About Paul Spence
I started my carpentry apprenticeship way back in 1982, under a local builder in Toowoomba. Since then, I've worked in many areas of the building trade, as well as branching out into a few other fields of work over the years. Along the way, I discovered a passion for heritage restoration and construction, which has been my main focus for some time now.
Over the years, my wife and I have been lucky enough to do a bit of travelling across Australia and Europe. Naturally, I couldn't resist the urge to study the historic architectural styles and construction techniques used in many of the towns and cities that we visited.
These days I have a couple of younger tradesmen working alongside me, as well as a dedicated team of specialist subcontractors to help on larger projects. On every project, I try to pass on the knowledge and skills I've managed to accumulate to the younger generation, in the hope that some of it will endure beyond my time in the industry.
Despite all of the help that now surrounds me, I'm still very much a hands on builder who loves working on site to ensure that every project we take on is built to the highest standards. So please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have a period style construction project in mind that you'd like to have a chat about.
